About Me

My name is Nivek, I am a solo developer making games in my free time! I don’t have a ton of time to commit to all the projects I make and they usually happen in bursts. Paper Plane for example took about 6 months to produce only working on weekends for a few hours a day. Each project I make is made with purpose weather that’s rebuilding a childhood favorite that people seem to have forgotten or remastering classics in my vision and style. On top of that, my games are usually offline supported and I do not put ads in my games. I think ads are annoying and a bad way of motivating developers to make money. With that said, if you feel you got worth from any of my games feel free to tip me as it does help a lot!

Almost all my games are 2D and pixel art. Believe it or not, games are quite challenging to make alone and I’ve found for me that 2D pixel art based games is my bread and butter. They might not look incredible like Shovel Knight or Undertale, but who knows maybe I’ll get there with time. The games I develop are inspired by the NES/SNES era of gaming. Quick hops into action like Tetris and Galiga or concepts for long story based games like Zelda or Final Fantasy.

I have a massive passion for collecting and archiving retro games/consoles. The retro era of gaming, in my opinion, brought us some of the most important titles in the history of gaming. That’s why I archive and collect. It’s very important to me that these consoles and games are remembered and not forgotten. There’s a lot of games out there that are lost to time and it pains me to see that. People spend months if not years working on these games for public consumption sacrificing time and strength for a project they love. Their game, no matter how bad, good, or well known, deserves to be remembered.

Besides gaming I have always been a huge fan of the Walt Disney company and love the Disneyland park in Anaheim California. While I am not happy with where the company is today, the “Golden Age” of Disney is where my heart swoons. I’ll always love the park and it’s rich history as a Disneyland historian type. If you ever get a chance to speak to me, that’s a topic I hold near and dear to my heart.

If you actually read all this, thank you. I hope you enjoy my work and stick around for my future developments. I have an itch.io page where I post updates on upcoming games and ideas for games.
